My tall, dark, and beautiful big sister Jennifer is celebrating a monumental birthday today.  As her husband Jeff put it, ” It’s spelled 4-0 but pronounced twenty-nine”.  She’s off enjoying her day somewhere warm and sunny.  This particular birthday is sometimes greeted with trepidation and dread.  It can bring on sensations of traveling up and over hills.  The words “vintage” and “antiquated” can cause anxiety on this particular occassion.

In case Jennifer is experiencing any of these feelings, I thought I’d offer a glimpse of others who will share this milestone with her this year.

Even without a personal trainer, assistant, chef, housekeeper, nanny, plastic surgeon, grocery shopper, and PhotoShopper, you outshine them all!   No matter what your age, you will always be my big sister, my buddy at the roller rink on Saturday afternoons, a Friday night friend to watch back to back episodes of The Love Boat and Fantasy Island with, the sister who tried many a time to stab me with kitchen shears, someone to take fashion cues from,  both a confidant and nemesis, and most of all a best friend. Enjoy your day Jennifer.  You deserve it!
