Beautiful Kiana | San Ramon Valley High School Senior Photographer

June 24, 2011

I’m off to take the kids to see Cars 2 but I wanted to put up a quick sneak peek for this gorgeous senior.

I love it when clients know what they want and Kiana was definitely one of these favorite clients.  We headed up into the Oakland Hills to Huckleberry Botanical Gardens, her very favorite place to go hiking, for Kiana’s senior session.  It was breathtakingly beautiful with vegetation of all types.  She is heading off to Brigham Young University in the fall and I couldn’t be happier for her.  Thank you, Kiana and Andrea, for allowing me to take your senior pictures and capturing this turning point in your life.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Home Again…

February 26, 2009

The sun was soaked, paparazzi was spotted, Mickey and Minnie were visited, the Lego inauguration was impressive, miles were traveled, souvenirs were purchased, and Idaho was once again realized.

We’re back!

What I learned on our trip:

  1. When you trade your tried and true Maui timeshare, remember there are those choice few properties in the trading mix  that will take you back to 1984 in all its powder blue and mauve glory.

  2. Checking your kids out of school and taking them on a surprise trip ANYWHERE is awesome!

  3. A GPS navigation in the rental car was pure genius on the part of Hertz.

  4. I’ll be first in line to petition for an In-N-Out Burger in the greater (or lesser) Boise area.

  5. You’ll have tons of email and blogging catching up to do when your 1984 timeshare hasn’t heard of WiFi.

  6. Star Tours is fun the first time and gets a little monotonous after about 5 trips to The Moon of Endor.

  7. Seeing the mix of people at Disneyland will make you feel better about your physique.

  8. But looking through your trip pictures may make you change your mind.

  9. It’s hard after 6 days of sunny California to come home to a windy 35 degrees.

  10. After 6 days of reprieve, it’s hard to get back to blogging.

I’m off to do laundry, emails, grocery shopping, bills, phone calls, and repack so I can fly to San Francisco tomorrow for my sister’s baby shower.  But here are some lots of pictures from our trip.  I’ll be back on Sunday to catch up on reading all the blogs I missed while I was away.

Happy Weekending!!!

Thankful Thursday

November 13, 2008

Today I’m thankful that:

  • I was able to get away to beautiful sunny California for a few days with my mom and sisters. (Did I already mention that?)
  • My sister Ashley found out she’s having a little boy. I’m excited to have a baby around again to cuddle and smell and love … and then give back.  Can’t wait!
  • Maddy no longer needs an IEP.  She is doing great in school and has learned to organize herself and stay on task.
  • I may make it out of the house today to buy food and a baby shower gift.  Will is starting to feel better. I think a little retail therapy will do us good.
  • My husband’s job is going well.  In this economy the fact that he has a job is a blessing and that it is fulfilling and successful is a bonus.
  • My creativity was sparked yesterday and I painted again for the first time since the move.
  • I’ve been able to scrape together dinners all week even though I haven’t made it to the grocery store yet.
  • Erik had a playdate with a friend … who’s a boy.  He’s always liked playing with girls and has had a hard time understanding why, all of a sudden, second grade girls no longer want to play with second grade boys.  Something about cooties apparently.  They had fun playing Star Wars.
  • That Jack is getting really good at guitar.
  • It’s raining.  Thunderstorms are my favorite, but since those are rare around here, I’ll take a good rainstorm any day.
  • We rejoined Netflix. I love getting a new movie in the mail every week. I especially love watching a movie on cold, rainy, winter nights.  I watched A&E’s Pride and Prejudice last week for the first time.  I LOVED it!  I know I’m like the last person on the planet to see it.  What can I say? Nobody shared that little gem with me before.  It seems to be a favorite of lots of people.  And since I’m filling up my DVD  queue right now, I need your help.  On a cold and rainy night while snuggling up with a cup of hot cocoa and a blanket, what is your favorite movie to watch?

How to Recharge a Mom…

November 11, 2008
  1. Take one tired, stuck-in-a-rut mom of four and fly her “home” to California.

dsc_03482. Send along her mom and sisters to meet her for a long weekend.

3. Take her sight-seeing,

dsc_03463. Shopping at her sister’s stores and eating. As a bonus, splurge on a wonderful chocolate mousse mineral facial.

dsc_0334dsc_03361
dsc_03534. Give her time to finish reading her book.

61hg6mv0yxl_sl500_aa240_5. Have her spend a little time at her sister and brother-in-law’s condo in South Beach to visit with their spaniels (who don’t realize they will soon be welcoming a new baby in March).

dsc_0354dsc_03626. Then send her back home revived, refreshed and ready to take on these little people.

dsc_0174Hope you all had a great weekend too!
