When Kelli contacted me about shooting a Rock the Dress session with her and her husband (happy 1-year anniversary!) I was over-the-moon excited! Why? Because I LOVE doing Rock the Dress sessions for several reasons. First, without the pressure of the wedding (or prom), clients are so much more relaxed and it shows in the pictures. Second, we aren’t limited in what we can do and where we can go. There are no time constraints to contend with so we can shoot at several locations. And nobody is worried if the dress gets a little dirty. I mean, seriously. Who wears their wedding gown or even their prom dress a second time??? And third, and probably my favorite reason, no matter where we go, we get a ton of attention from passers-by with honks and waves and shouts of “Congratulations!”.
Since they’re both from the Bay Area, Kelli and Mark wanted to head to San Francisco for their session. We stopped by AT&T Park, the Mission District, and the Embarcadero before heading up to Potrero Hill to get some shots of the skyline. Mark was a trooper and by the end of the evening, had his “smoldering look” down pat. I loved that he looked like he walked right out of the set of Mad Men. Kelli looked gorgeous as always and even played along when people congratulated her on The Big Day. I was so impressed that her dress fit her just as it did a year ago. I’m sure I couldn’t say that at my 1-year anniversary.
A huge thank you to Susan Crane of Bloom Artistry who provided the gorgeous flowers for the session. She creates the most amazing floral designs in the Bay Area!
Happy One Year Anniversary, Kelli and Mark!
Enjoy!
