Mother’s Day!

It’s coming up.  It always seems to sneak up on me every year.  Somewhere in my mind I think I have a free pass to just enjoy the holiday because I am “the mother” and for once I don’t have to be “in charge” of a holiday.  But then I remember that not only am a mother, but that I HAVE a mother that I get to honor.  But by that time, I’m running late on time and short on ideas.  (Don’t tell my mom!)

Newborn Casting Call | Danville Photographer

I’m thrilled to be taking part in several workshops in the next couple of months!  I’m working on refining my work specifically with natural light and newborns and am looking for some sweet babies to work with.

I am currently looking for 5 newborns to photograph.

These casting call sessions will:

  • Be complimentary and include 3 digital images (however a disc of the session may be purchased at a special rate).
  • Be targeted towards capturing a single image /pose / prop  (but if time and patience permits, additional poses and images will be attempted).
  • Require a model release permitting the images to be used on the blog, website, and Facebook as well as on other marketing materials for Wendy VonSosen Photography.
  • Be held in the convenience of your home .

The current casting call is for:

  • Newborns 10 days old or younger at the time of the session.
  • Clients who live within 15 miles of Danville

Charity Halloween Photo Booth | Danville Child Photographer

Next weekend the Town of Danville  is holding its annual Fall Crafts Festival complete with a “home town” parade where kids don their  Halloween costumes and go from store to store trick-or-treating.    I’m teaming up with the fabulous childrens boutique, Dandelion, for a Charity Halloween Photo Booth on Saturday from 10-1.  Bring your trick-or-treaters out and receive a complimentary5x7 portrait in exchange for a canned food or cash donation to the food bank.  All proceeds will go to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano.  Hope to see you all there!

Portraits will be ready for pick-up at Dandelion after November 6th.

Portrait Party at Flaunt!

I love the summer!  The kids are out of school, the schedule relaxes, and the days are long and warm.  But as the kids get older, they get busier and busier.  This summer has been filled with lots of traveling, mostly to take kids to camps of all kinds.

I’m in Utah this week visiting family and friends, taking a son to baseball camp,  and enjoying the beautiful Wasatch Mountains.  Photos to come when I get home this weekend.

This week’s 20 on Tuesday was on vacation with me, but it’ll be back next week with another inspiring fellow photog.

We’re headed back “home” to California in a few weeks to visit friends and family.  I can’t wait!

New Product: 411 Cards | Boise Portrait Photographer

I don’t know about you, but I never have a pen in my purse when I need one.  I’ve been caught off guard too many times when I’ve met someone new and needed to write down my contact info and I haven’t had a pen or a scrap piece of paper to write it down on.  What I really needed was a 411 card I could hand to them.

These are the 411 cards I designed for my Senior Reps this year.  They have an image from our session on each side as well as their phone number, email, and facebook information.  The cards are 2×3.5 inches, small enough to stick in a wallet or a back pocket.

And seniors aren’t the only ones smitten these cards.  Moms, Dads, and little brothers and sisters love sharing them with friends too.  The sky’s the limit on what  info you could include on them.  Address, blogsite info, ages of your sweet kids, birthdays, and even a list of your hobbies!  Anything you’d like to pass along to friends and family.  Consider them your own unique business cards!

Since I love them so much, I’m offering 50 free custom designed 411 cards to every paid session booked during the month of June.  Your session does not have to take place in June, but it does have to be booked in June.  I will include these sweet cards when your paid order is delivered!
