Meet my beautiful sister, Ashley.  She’s expecting her second baby soon.  I can’t wait to meet her!

Well, it’s been a busy month around here, full of sports, theater, prom, and life.   I think I’m ready for Spring Break!

We’re at month 8 of this Lifestyle Project and I love that it pushes me to shoot life as it’s happening.  Be sure to make the rounds this week and take a peek into the lives of my fellow photogs starting with my friend Deb Schwedhelm | Tampa Child and Family Photographer.

Since we’ve been going 50 different ways lately, I’m calling this, “What March Looks Like”.

Early this month, my husband and I snuck away for a night to a company retreat and had dinner at a winery in this amazing cask room.

Our son had his 11th birthday and we celebrated with cake, presents, and the midnight showing of Hunger Games on opening night.  I’m still catching up on my sleep!

The same son was also in his first musical this month.  Our town ‘s Children’s Musical Theater presented their rendition of “Oklahoma” and it was so much fun to watch!

Junior Prom was last night.  The anticipation leading up to it reminded me a little of my own prom.  Everyone looked wonderful and had a ridiculously fun time.

While that one was at prom and the other was at theater, we snuck off with just two kids and ate ourselves into a chinese food coma.

And not to seem too organized or scheduled, we did have a little downtime.

Be sure to make the round this month starting with  Deb Schwedhelm | Tampa Child and Family Photographer.  Someday.  Someday, I will meet her in real life and get a peek into that creative mind of hers.

I adore repeat clients.  They make my heart happy.  This little girl is no exception.  You may recognize her from her newborn session, or her 6 month session, or her family session last December.  She just celebrated her one year birthday with lots of pink.  I stopped by this week to capture her and all of her huge smiles and  curiosity.   I am in love with this session because the lifestyle approach is so “me” and the way that I most enjoy photographing children.  We will head out one more time when the rain lets up this spring for some outdoor fun.  For now, enjoy a glimpse at the adorable Elle.

This lifestyle project is one of my very favorite personal projects that I’ve continued from 2011.  Lifestyle photography is my favorite way of capturing memories of my family and I’m happy to be able to share that on my blog and with my small, yet incredibly talented, circle of fellow photographers.

One of our favorite things about living in California again is the proximity of the ocean.  My husband and I lived in a little coastal Connecticut town in high school and we both love visiting the beach.  We are so fortunate to be able to share that love with our kids.  With so much going on in our lives, it’s hard to find time to spend a day at the ocean, but we managed it this past Monday for President’s Day.  Half Moon Bay in February isn’t exactly tropical but it sure is beautiful and it made for a fun and relaxing day with our kids.  Our dog Molly even got to tag along.

This is “What a Family Day at the Beach Looks Like – February style”.

I hope you’ll make the rounds with me this month as I take a sneak into the lives of my crew of amazing photographer friends starting with Deb Schwedhelm | Tampa Child and Family Photographer.  She never fails to make me wish I was part of her family.

I’m in the midst of preparing for a big trip to learn amazing things from one of the top senior photographers in the industry.  Busy but so excited!  I wanted to post a quick sneak peek of Monday’s lifestyle post as I hurry out the door to pick up a few necessities for the trip (bug spray, sunscreen, and short-sleeves – any guess where I’m off to?).

Have a wonderful weekend!
