Over the River and Through the sagebrush,
To Grandmother’s house we drive;
The Dad knows the plan,
to carry the fam,
So we can make it to Utah alive.
Over the river and through the sagebrush,
The cousins, aunts, uncles say “Hi”;
We all play Rock Band,
Quelf, Playstation and Candyland, (not really but it rhymes)
Then eat turkey and trimmings and pie.
Over the river and through the sagebrush,
The weekend wouldn’t be complete;
Without another viewing of Twilight,
Swooning over Edward late at night,
Getting our men to go proved an impossible feat.
Over the river and through the sagebrush,
Lots of fun was had by all;
To IKEA we ate lunch,
Chairs and beds we sampled a bunch,
The employees wished we’d go back to the mall.
Over the river and through the sagebrush,
We finally came home last night;
To laundry and school,
Say the kids, “This is not cool”,
But we’ll endure till Christmas Eve night…
