We are out of town this week but I was able to fit in a couple of sessions during our trip.  I wasn’t sure if the timing was going to work out for this little guy but luckily he arrived a little later than expected and I was able to photograph him before he was two weeks old.  Although tiny, he had a hearty appetite and took a few breaks between poses to snack.  As the third boy in this family, he was already used to noise and didn’t flinch as his (totally adorable) big brothers darted in and out of the house stopping in every now and then to check on our progress.  Lynette, thank you for allowing me to photograph your sweet boys in your beautiful home.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

I made a fantastic discovery this week over on i heart faces.  The theme is “Celebrating Teens” and since I have teens of my own and I’ve been shooting lots of high school seniors lately, I thought I’d enter this week’s challenge.  When I headed over there to take a look at the details, I discovered that the judge this week is a fantastic wedding photographer out of Vancouver named Jamie Delaine.  I visited her website and perused the fabulous images on her stinkin cute site!  The fantastic part of it all is that she is a TEENAGER herself!  I was blown away with her talent, her foresight, the thoughts and words she shares, and all that she has accomplished at such a young age.  If you get a chance, go on over to her SITE and see for yourself.  Seriously amazing!

I had the hardest time choosing an image this week.  I’ve had the privilege of photographing some beautiful and fun seniors lately and each and every one of them could be entered into this week’s challenge.  I chose this image of the beautiful Kellie because I love the way the colors work.  Kellie is not only beautiful but she’s goofy and spontaneous, and creative, and artistic, and so so photogenic.  I have a few images of her laughing hysterically that I almost used but I kept coming back to this one because it shows off her beautiful eyes, and gorgeous red locks and the greens are so pretty.

Head on over to ihearfaces and help us “Celebrate Teens” this week!

Isn’t that what all little girls are made of?  This one is no exception.  She was sporting the softest head of hair too.  She wasn’t sure sleep was such a great idea at first, but by the time we were done, she was out like a light.  I love it when newborns are agreeable like that!

I love newborns!  This week’s challenge over at i heart faces is “All About Babies” so I had to enter.  Newborn photography has become a passion of mine lately.  Babies are so innocent and sweet and pure.  Newborns change so quickly from being covered in newborn fuzz to being covered in baby chub. My heart sings when I can capture their newness in all its glory and record it for their family.

This is little Maddex.  He’s now covered in baby chub but during his newborn session he had a layer of downy peach fuzz residing on his tiny ears and shoulders.  So soft and sweet!

Go get your “baby fix” over at i heart faces this week!

We’re only into day 7 of summer vacation and the dreaded “B” word has already made it’s appearance.  You know which word I’m talking about.

“Mom, I’m so…

BORED!”

And since it’s only day 7 of summer vacation, my arsenal of boredom busters is still well stocked.  So I pulled out the “let’s bake something, kids!” suggestion.

Will looked through my cookbooks and after I nixed the jack-o-lantern cookies, Santa Claus cut-outs, and candy cane twists, we all agreed on good old-fashioned brownies from scratch.

That was yesterday.  And by this morning they were gone.  Not a crumb in sight.

I guess we can check that off our summer to-do list.

How’s your summer going?

Spring is upon us, although if you’ve stepped outside my house today, it would be hard to believe.  It’s almost June and I still haven’t planted the garden yet because it’s still too darn cold! I have yet to break out the t-shirts and flip flops.

So, to help me get into the spring spirit, I’m posting these two from a previous session.  It was actually teetering on warm the day I took these, back in April.

I hope it’s warmer where you live and that spring is in full bloom!

Come back tomorrow for my first post in my new series of weekly interviews.  I’m so excited!

Happy Monday!

I get this look often.

And I love it!

Just in time for Halloween!

This was last year’s costume but it makes it’s appearance every so often throughout the year.

You can never get enough Darth, right?

It was chilly!

Nope.  It was downright cold.

But these guys were TROUPERS I tell ya, TROUPERS!

Such a fun family to spend a few hours with this afternoon.  These kids are a.dor.a.ble!

Despite shivering through much of the shoot, we were able to get some cute shots of these guys.

Here is a sneak peek…

Who's your Iron man?

June 2, 2008

It was the perfect day for the Boise Ironman 70.3. A little cool (what else is new this year), a little drizzly, but still lots of fun (for us spectators at least).

The boys snacking on pretzels while waiting…

Jack reading the only reading material to be found…the Ironman brochure. (Did I not tell everyone to bring a book?)

Maddy and I, along with hundreds of others cheered, applauded, and woo-hooed the athletes along on the run course.

Finally, we recognized someone…

What does he want?

Oh, Will.

He finished in 4 hours and 48 minutes. Met his goal of finishing sub-5. Not bad for having a very loose training year with all that is going on. Now, on to Ironman Coeur d’Alene in 3 weeks!
