I am honored and thrilled to welcome Val Spring of The Red Balloon Photography to be my guest blogger today! Val has this amazing style; part retro, part vintage, part old school nostalgia, and often storybook, that I just can’t get enough of. Her work stands out in a crowd and I’ve always been curious how that style would transfer to her own home and the way she uses her own photographs. (But, without a doubt, I knew it would somehow incorporate the color aqua.) I am in love with the vintage camera shelf and the gorgeous light throughout her home!
I have, for the longest time, procrastinated on printing photos for our home. I’ve always had it on my “to do” list but it just never ended up making it to the top of it and instead kept being pushed down to the bottom of the list by other “to do’s” that at the time seemed more important. But last summer I finally made it a priority. The fact that my friend Breeze was coming to visit helped to bump it up quite a bit and I made it happen! Now I can not believe that I waited so long to do it because it makes all of us and the people that visit us so happy to see all these documented moments all over our home.

Thank you, Val!

I adore Val! She is not only talented but also has a very kind heart! thank you for featuring her. I too can’t stop looking at her amazing pics.
love your place val, it’s so “YOU”!! beautiful post…
I love the images of the birds and girl swinging high in the sky. The best captures are when they are totally unaware of you and into their own thing
Also love the meaning behind your 2 long standing images!
So many things that I like and want to have. I love that some of your images are places that you love. That’s what I want, I want images of places that I’ve been to and preferably taken by me. I love your vintage cameras. I am slowly building my collection. I only have 2. Love how you mounted a canvas on your vintage scale. I think your clothes pins are a great size. I pinned something on pinterest with clothing pins…maybe you’d like the look of glittered pins or cover it with pattern paper?
I have major light envy Val, what a gorgeous house. Love all your photos!!!!
I loved this all in person, and I still love it now! Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!
I first heard of you through Breeze… we met up right before she came out to see you. I am SO glad I know about your work…it’s gorgeous!
