I have to confess.  These posts have been coming into my mailbox every day for the last few weeks and I file them away until it’s time to put them together.  I haven’t been looking through all the pictures as they pop up in my mailbox simply because I don’t have time.  But as I download and save the pictures to put together each post, I continue to be inspired by what I see.  Such is true of Sara Tegman’s post.  When I opened the images and saw that they were all done in black and white, I wasn’t surprised.  That’s just how Sara is.  Artistic, and modern, and classic.  And I think I’m in love with the gallery of wedding day photos of all the parents and grandparents.  Truly amazing, Sara!

Days are long. 
Years are short.
I have a terrible memory, which is one of the reasons I love photography.  It is a constant reminder of the past.  It helps me remember.  But one of the biggest things I want to always remember is those fleeting moments where I was fully present in that moment with my family.  Images in my home are a constant reminder of little snippets in time, the moments on the beach building a sandcastle, that golden hour light and how my girls skin glowed, the trueness in their giggle and laughter, or quite frankly its a “its-only-one-more-click-and-then-we-can-go-get-you-some-food-so-please-smile” speech.  It all matters to me.   I want to remember that we, as a family, are growing up all together in the same house.  I never want to take life or love or health for granted.  My life has been put into perspective in a way that I don’t want changing much, which I know it will, and that is okay.   I want to be okay with the past when I look at these photos.  I haven’t been diligent about albums or baby books or scrapbooks, just fairly simple images up on my walls that I love.  I want to appreciate and respect my children and husband on a deeper level.   My photos displayed in my house are a constant reminder about how we are building our sacred, safe and soothing home so that our kids can grow, learn and take those memories with them to their homes when they leave mine.  I want them to understand how much I love them.
