Art Display Project | Elisabeth Ross

January 14, 2012

I’m excited to have Elisabeth Ross guest blogging for me today!  Like me, she has big plans for her home but with adorable little people keeping her busy, those plans continue to grow.  But what she does have on her walls is gorgeous and I can only imagine what they will look like when all of her plans come to fruition!  And, can I just say, I love the wide angle that she shot these with!

A lot of photographers fall into the same trap. We have thousands of pictures sitting on our hard drive, but none hanging on our wall. I have taken countless pictures of both my sons, but actually getting them printed is another story. The last time I hung pictures was about 2 & 1/2 years ago. That was before the arrival of my youngest son, so I don’t even have any pictures of him on my wall. I even got a fancy printer to print my pictures on. I was so excited waiting for the first print to come out of the printer. My jaw actually dropped when I saw the picture. It was gorgeous and I felt it rivaled my professional lab. My husband was even impressed. I just knew that this printer was going to be the answer to all my problems, yet there it sits on the shelf, dusty and out of toner.

This year is going to be different though. I have been reading Wendy’s blog daily and I have been captivated by the beautiful displays of art I have seen. This art display project has really inspired me to get my pictures printed and up on the wall.

Let’s take a quick peek at what I have printed and displayed. My house is quite small and my living room doesn’t have much wall space, so most of my pictures are in my dining room.

This wall is to the left at the entrance into my dining room. These prints are 8×10.

This wall is to the right at the entrance into my dining room. These prints are 16×20 and 5×7.

Here are two prints I display on top of my piano. The black and white is an 8×10 and the color is a 5×7.

And last but not least, this is above the mantle in my living room. These prints are 11×14 mounted on styrene.

Thanks, Beth!

how fun to use a fisheye on these! I have to agree this project has been super inspiring (as is everything Wendy does) and I adore the images you have up. Wishing you the best of luck for your artful goals this year!
