When Kelli contacted me about shooting a Rock the Dress session with her and her husband (happy 1-year anniversary!) I was over-the-moon excited!  Why?  Because I LOVE doing Rock the Dress sessions for several reasons.  First, without the pressure of the wedding (or prom), clients are so much more relaxed and it shows in the pictures.  Second, we aren’t limited in what we can do and where we can go.  There are no time constraints to contend with so we can shoot at several locations.  And nobody is worried if the dress gets a little dirty.  I mean, seriously.  Who wears their wedding gown or even their prom dress a second time???  And third, and probably my favorite reason, no matter where we go, we get a ton of attention from passers-by with honks and waves and shouts of  “Congratulations!”.

Since they’re both from the Bay Area, Kelli and Mark wanted to head to San Francisco for their session.   We stopped by AT&T Park, the Mission District, and the Embarcadero before heading up to Potrero Hill to get some shots of the skyline.  Mark was a trooper and by the end of the evening, had his “smoldering look” down pat.  I loved that he looked like he walked right out of the set of Mad Men.  Kelli looked gorgeous as always and even played along when people congratulated her on The Big Day.  I was so impressed that her dress fit her just as it did a year ago.  I’m sure I couldn’t say that at my 1-year anniversary.

A huge thank you to Susan Crane of Bloom Artistry who provided the gorgeous flowers for the session.    She creates the most amazing floral designs in the Bay Area!

Happy One Year Anniversary, Kelli and Mark!

Enjoy!

This year I’ve teamed up with 19 fabulously talented photographers in a project called Fifty-Two Fridays. Each week we have a theme and our challenge is to post an image that best represents that theme. We are more than half-way through the year and I continue to be inspired and pushed creatively by my fellow photographers.

This week’s theme:

Silver and GoldMy sister and her family came to stay with us this week for a last hurrah before school starts again.  On their way out, they stopped at a little boutique and picked up these beautiful masquerade masks.  My niece humored me by modeling her mask for this week’s theme.  Isn’t she stunning?

Happy Friday!

Unlike my sister Jennifer aka Tatertots and Jello, I do not do regular giveaways or contests on my blog.  Therefore, I have no idea how to get my image from Random.org to my blog.  So you’ll just have to trust me that, using the entries from 1-29, lucky #24 was chosen.  That means Kat wins a year membership to the wonderfully fabulous Bloom Forum!!!

Thank you for all of the entries.  Even if you didn’t win, please consider joining the forum.  You will not regret it!

Happy Weekending!!!

FEETEnjoy a summer day in the life of a pair of 16 year-old feet.

Only  2 more weeks until the days of sleeping in, doing a little shopping, swimming in the pool, and kicking back to a little Project Runway in the evening, are over and school’s back in session.  Sighhhh…

I don’t usually (ever) agree to product reviews but when Angela from Invisibleskinz contacted me to review one of their iphone skins, I agreed.  Maybe because my iphone is near and dear to my heart.  Or maybe because there we so many designs to choose from, including the logo from my alma mater.  But for whatever reason, I said “Absolutely”.  So, after perusing the many pages of designs on their website, I chose this one.  When it arrived in the mail, I was surprised at how thin it was.  I was half expecting an actual case.  But this was more of a skin, as the name implies.  I popped my case off,  peeled the skin off of its backing and stuck it to my naked phone.  Easy peasy.  It also came with strips for the sides but I chose not to add those because I have what I refer to as clumsy-cell-phone-fingers and I tend to drop my phone weekly if not daily.  The skin definitely protects my phone from scratches, but not from falls, so I was afraid the strips on the sides would peel off when I popped my case back on from time to time.

I’ve been wearing my skin for about a month now and love it.  The material  makes my phone easy to grasp and hang onto, so less falls.  Woo-hoo!  The back of my phone has not seen a scratch at all and when I see that college logo, I feel a tiny bit young and nostalgic for a moment.  I highly recommend visiting Invisibleskinz and checking out their wide variety of designs for a wide range of cell phones.

Thanks, Invisibleskinz!
