December 31, 2010

This has been a crazy year full of change and growth.  I’ve loved getting to know new clients and getting to know better repeat clients who have become dear friends.  I am so grateful to my clients and my friends and my family for your support of me and my business this year.  As I look back on the past 12 months I can remember each and every session, each client with their own unique personalities, the, oftentimes nervous feelings I had going into the session and the joy and relief I felt later as I edited each session and created the images that represented that moment in time for each client.  I love this job to the moon and back and feel so fortunate to be able to do what I love each and every day.  I will continue into 2011 learning and growing my skills so that I can continue to capture real life moments for my own family as well as my present and future clients that they will treasure for years to come.

Here are a few of my favorite images from each session this year.

Thank you so much for your continued support!

I also wanted to send a big humongous shout-out to my 19 fabulous fellow photographers who were featured on my 20 on Tuesday interviews this year.   They are generous and lovely and oh so inspiring.  Thank you!

I have already started lining up some amazing ladies to share with you in 2011, starting this coming Tuesday.  Stay tuned for more inspiration!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I finally got around to baking today.

I’m exhausted.

But we now have the appropriate amount of sugar on hand for the holidays.

I made yummy salted caramels from Baked Bree’s blog.  She is phenomenal.  If you haven’t been hooked by her wonderful blog, you have never visited it.  Go take a look-see and tell me I’m wrong.

I also tried her pretty Lemon Wreath cookies.  If you like lemon, these are TDF!

To round out the sugar coma,  I made chocolate peppermint cookies.  What’s not to like about chocolate, peppermint and butter cream frosting?  Absolutely nothing.

(These happen to be the first pictures of “The Cave” I’ve published on the blog.  They may be the last.  Don’t judge.  It’s a rental)

to have two ideal clients in a row on the same day?

I think so!

And here’s proof.

I am just a little in love with this family and with their pictures.  She is a dear friend who has more enthusiasm than anyone I know.  She is always positive and smiling and excited to see you no matter how long it’s been since the last time.  A year.  A half hour.  She makes you feel like there’s nowhere she’d rather be than talking and catching up with you.  I LOVE that!

Take a little gander at her gorgeous family and their fantabulous styling.  I tell you, they looked incredible!

Merry Christmas, Calls!

So, if you’re wondering what makes a dream client, I’ll tell you.

1) A family who isn’t afraid of hoisting themselves up and over two livestock gates to get to their session.

2) A family who wears rubber boots in case they step in “cow plops”.

3) A mom who owns a children’s boutique and know exactly how to style her family for a session.

4) Three adorable daughters who don’t need any prompting before they start laughing and dancing hysterically on the bed of a truck.

5) A dad who tells you at the end, “Thanks.  That was painless.”

I so, so, so enjoyed our afternoon together.  Enjoy!

It’s been awhile since I got to spend the morning with a newborn.  Oh how I’ve missed them!

Although Miss Peyton thought she’d be missing something if she slept, we were able to catch a few shots during her few minutes of sleep.

Thanks for allowing me into your home, Patty.  You have a beautiful family! Enjoy your sneak peek!

I’m enjoying this busy season with my business so much that I have yet to start Christmas for my own family.  Therefore, I will be taking the rest of  December off from 20 on Tuesday.  Look for more inspiring photographers coming in the new year!
