All I have to say is… TARA WHITNEY!  is the guest judge this week over at i heart faces.  How could I not enter?  Really.

I’m a product of the big city suburb.  I guess you could say I’m a suburbanite.  My family still lives in the burbs.  So did we.  In the Bay Area to be exact. Up until a few years ago.  We got this wild idea to move to the country.  Idaho to be exact.  To a town without a singe stop light. Still questioning that decision.  What a 360 we did!

This is my niece.  She came to stay with us for a few weeks last summer.  She’s a suburbanite too.  But she took a liking to the calf in our pasture.  She would feed it weeds, talk to it.  Pet it. Play chase with it.  They became fast friends.  He would even moo when he saw her coming.  I was afraid to tell her he would someday become someone’s dinner.  She wanted to take him home with her.  Her mom said “no”.  At the very least she wanted to get a calf  for her own backyard.  Her mom said “no”.  So I guess she’ll just have to come stay with her country cousins again this summer.

I’m so excited for another newborn session this week!  I love those little ones.  I’ll post pics soon.  In the meantime, head on over to i heart faces for some really amazing black and white entries!

Wendy I love this one! I especially relate because I grew up fairly suburban, but ended up on a farm. A dairy farm. I am still wrestling with my love/hate relationship! :D
