One fifth grade graduation:

An Eighth Grade Awards Ceremony where she won an  award from her English teacher:

maddy-awardmaddy-thompson

And the annual neighborhood end-of-the-school-year party.

There’s a big water fight at the bus stop with kids, parents, dogs, grandparents, and friends with a barbeque afterward.  The official summer kick-off!

Great post!! As much as I wanted to douse you with a big bucket of water, I knew that I would be glad later on that you were taking pictures! Wasn’t that fun?!! I loved it when Erik picked up Will and took him yelling that he didn’t want to get wet to the sprinklers to get his water gun filled up. That was classic.

You know Ralf came riding through on his bike right before the bus came, and he got hit with three or four buckets of water as he was coming through. It was ruthless, I’ll admit. When he parked his bike, he said, “I was just coming by to say Hi.” He was a good sport!

Bruce and I were talking about that, and then we both agreed – what a “wenderful” addition to our community you have been. You have contributed so much, and Maddy’s award at the Middle School was just one sign of that. Congratulations Maddy!

    See you guys tonight!

What a blast. I love that idea of a big waterfight/BBQ. What a busy week! SO glad it’s Summer. We took the kids to see UP after the last day of school today. Of course – it’s raining.

    Have a happy weekend!

    XOXO
    Jen

How fun for everyone! I didn’t see how wet you got, or did they have mercy on the photographer? Lorena’s comments were very sweet too. I hope you are feeling more settled living there now that you have a couple of the end of year parties under your belt. Great pictures too! Love you.

Hmm…I noticed someone (didn’t see the face), but a teenage boy chasing after the Maddie girl. Better get Ralf cleaning the guns! :)

    Ahhhh.. summer.

so I learned a new trick.. can’t remember which camera you have but I bet you canif you check on your picture settings you can define your own sharpness/contrast/ hue and brightness right on your camera so it saves some post editing. Love it. I turned the sharpness all the way up, contrast up 2, sat up 1 , and brightness up 1. left the others. Try it and let me know what you think!
