Memory Monday Thanksgiving Edition

December 1, 2008

Over the River and Through the sagebrush,

To Grandmother’s house we drive;

The Dad knows the plan,

to carry the fam,

So we can make it to Utah alive.

Over the river and through the sagebrush,

The cousins, aunts, uncles say “Hi”;

We all play Rock Band,

Quelf, Playstation and Candyland, (not really but it rhymes)

Then eat turkey and trimmings and pie.

Over the river and through the sagebrush,

The weekend wouldn’t be complete;

Without another viewing of Twilight,

Swooning over Edward late at night,

Getting our men to go proved an impossible feat.

Over the river and through the sagebrush,

Lots of fun was had by all;

To IKEA we ate lunch,

Chairs and beds we sampled a bunch,

The employees wished we’d go back to the mall.

Over the river and through the sagebrush,

We finally came home last night;

To laundry and school,

Say the kids, “This is not cool”,

But we’ll endure till Christmas Eve night…

    I love foldable Jeff! What a great idea! My kids take up so much room (physically and mentally), it’d be great if I could fold and stow them when not in use. I’ll have to call Ikea and get them on that.

    Nice! Loved your version of the song better than the original. What great pics! Your family is so cute! I’ve been to the Ikea once since it opened and I got lost! I too had to view Edward again over the Thanksgiving weekend….sigh :)

    Are those antlers?

    I’ve been thinking of that song since Thursday. I like your rendition better.

    Great pictures again Wendy! I can tell from the pics of your mom where you get all your ‘put-togetherness’:)

    And the song? So fun!

    That first picture is GREAT. It should be illegal to post a picture of someone with their eyes CLOSED!

    I miss big family gatherings at the holidays. NEXT YEAR I need to be better at planning … CA sounds lovely (big brother and his 6 children would be so happy).

    HEY, we are big FB fans too. I just let my 13 yr old get an account.
